Down Syndrome Blood Test

Did anyone have the blood test for Down syndrome around 16 weeks? They couldn’t measure properly at my 12 week scan because of the babies position so I’ve done the blood test. My result was 1 in 1500 and classed as low but I know some people got scores of 1 in 5000 from the scan. Are the two scored differently?

I had mine done around 16 weeks with my little boy and this time I had it at my 12 week scan so I’ll check now because they’re both on my badgernotes app

@Natalya thank you, mine came back at 1 in 1500 so classed as low but obviously you’ve had a lot higher scores. I know the NHS won’t do anything now but I’m wondering about booking a NIPT test

Honestly I’ve seen a lot of people get 1 in 1500 that’s a 0.075% chance if you do the math which is basically nothing! I only got “higher” scores because I’m young I was 20 with my little boy and in 22 now. The older you are the “lower” your score

@Natalya oh I didn’t realise ages affected it, I am 30 maybe that changes it 😂

@Samantha give me 2 seconds and I’ll try find an article that states it just to make sure but I’m like 99% sure it does😂

@Natalya thank you!

@Samantha you’re welcome!

I’m a midwife, that’s a completely normal risk level x

@Alex thank you! I think I just worry about everything lately x

@Samantha I’m exactly the same, so easy to overthink 🤍

I did a NIPT,it’s a bit pricey but recommend
