Water just broke like in the movies!

I had zero expectations of this happening, as I was told it usually doesn’t happen this way! But I woke in the middle of the night like I often do and decided to go get a late night snack. I squatted down in front of the fridge to see what was on the lower shelf and a huge gush of water came out. I couldn’t believe it! With my first I went to 41weeks and my water never broke. I called the labor ward and they said I can come in or wait - I chose to wait because it’s 2:30am here and I have no one to be with my little boy while me & my husband went to the hospital. So after we take him to care tomorrow, we will go to the hospital and call my mum to see if she can come stay with him. Wish me luck for my VBAC!!

@Brenda thank you!!!!

Omgggg congratulations! Girl we were just talking about this 🤣 I'm excited for you

@Chloe thanks so much! It was just so out of the blue. You’re next :)

@Ellen that's so exciting! Did you have your baby??

Good luck!!

@Chloe nooo in early labor still! 9.5 hours since my water broke and counting haha. I’m having contractions and they’re painful but not excruciating and do stall every now and then.

@Ana thank you 💓

14 hours later and not much progress. No one has checked if I’m dilated but I’m too nervous to ask. Contractions are pretty far apart now.

Just ask, I would ask that way you can see if you can take a rest or not and try to get some sleep because you don't want to become sleepy when it's time to push. Your body will be too tired to push and it'd be nice to know where you're at you know. Give your update to family or just to know

I ended up asking! After 20 hours of labor with many hours of 3 min apart contractions, I finally got a cervix check. Well I was ZERO cm dilated and my cervix was high and up the back. Midwife tried to move it but couldn’t (damn was that painful). After weighing all options and risks with my specific history opted for a c section instead of morphine and waiting to see if labor would process. So not an ideal outcome but baby and me are safe and I’m proud of myself for labouring so long when I didn’t think i could.

Awe congratulations! I believe in fate and since you had a scheduled c section already in place I believe it was meant to be.

@Chloe I kinda feel that way too. Thanks for all the supportive words along the way.

Were you able to wait? With my first my water broke and she was born 20 hours later. This was my second, water broke and he was born less than two hours later 🤣 I wanted to wait too but that was not happening

@Favi I stayed at home for about 6 hours. Labored until 10pm (another 15 hours), no progress. Literally zero dilation. Really bad contractions tho! Ended up with a c section. But I’m proud i labored so long!

Congrats on your baby! ☺
