Following as we have ours at the end of the month x
We had ours a couple of weeks ago as baby C was breech. It’s a relatively simple appointment, you get taken into the little scan room, let baby down on the table, and then take baby’s legs out of baby grow and undo vest, fold underneath like you’re doing a nappy change. Sonographer will then step in, undo the nappy at the sides, apply gel and use the wand to do the scan over each hip. I then changed nappy, wiped off the gel and we were on our way. Our hospital said 1 of 3 outcomes, either everything is fine and you’ll be discharged, it’ll show a problem and you’ll be referred to a specialist, or that it will show that baby’s hips are ‘immature’ and you’ll have to have a repeat scan in a few weeks time xx
@Abi thank you so much! I was so unsure then I seen something about putting baby in a clear tube and I was like surly that can’t be right 🤣🤣 x
you’re welcome! I think the tubes are for full body MRI scans to stop them wriggling xx
We have ours tomorrow. No idea how it will go though.
