Halloween

I’m taking my 11 month old for trick or treat. Just wondering how it works.. how do we know which houses are giving out sweets? do we knock the doors of the decorated houses? And what do we say? New in the west, going to do this for the first time. Sorry for the silly questions.

If they're giving out candy, they should have a light on. You say trick or treat

@Rachel thank you! And they just give out candies?

We tried all houses in the little area we went, even if they didn’t have Halloween decorations up 😂😂😂

I'm going to our local mall, it's inside not cold

I was told check for the houses with they’re front porch lights on 🙆🏾‍♀️

If they have some sort of Halloween decorations out- I would knock. You just say “Trick or Treat!”- smile and hold out your bag then they put the candy in and you move to the next one! 😁🧡👻🎃 enjoy your Halloween night!

@Sam Do people do that in the malls too?

Standard etiquette is going to houses that have their light out. Other houses might not be passing candy out or ran out even if they have decorations
