Hair products recommendations/suggestions

I’m sorry for another hair post, but I’m just wanting advice or suggestions on shampoo/conditioner products for my son. The last week he’s been scratching at his head a lot more, so not sure if I need to try a different product. We currently use Childs farm curly hair shampoo, conditioner and leave in conditioner. We also wash his hair 2-3 times a week sometimes more depending on what food he’s rubbed in throughout the day.

Sometimes using too much shampoo can be really drying, causing itching & flakiness. I.e washing hair 2-3 times a week & sometimes more can be a lot. Maybe try a full on shampoo wash once a week & co-wash other times. Then use maybe some hair oil and leave in conditioner after.

I only do a shampoo per week, too much can dry the scalp on this type of hair and skin. I also use child farm on my son's hair but will be switching to Cantu or Baby Shea Moisture as I find his hair a bit dry but those brand have more chemichal than Child Farm

Could try Keracare co-wash shampoo, Cantu kids curly hair products, or Sof N Free curl activator. My boy has very long curly hair I spray wet it first and apply a curl activator lotion / cream and then style. I wash his hair once a week

I agree with the other Mamas it could be from washing the hair too often. I only wash my daughter's every 2 weeks but her hair does look coarser so maybe try to go till once a week. If she puts food into her hair I can usually just rinse it out and not have to wash her hair. If it's something that needs to be washed out we use a cowash which helps keep the scalp moisturized.

I wash my little girls hair once a week with little coco shampoo and conditioner. Then use Cantu detangler spray and then either cantu or little coco curly hair styling custards. My Little girls hair is very curly, looks similar to your little ones hair

Thank you everyone. 🙏🏽 We will trial once a week wash
