Induction experiences

Hi, I’m 39 weeks next week and have booked in an induction for 40 weeks. I might bring it forward as baby is measuring big. Please can you give me your induction experiences (good and bad!). It will be the pessary and then Prostin gel if that fails

I found the pessary insertion painful, had that at 8am and then had baby by 11pm that day. It was intense but manageable & I had gas and air in the birthing pool. Baby was 8lb 9oz. Ideally I want to go into labour this time round but i won’t decline an induction as I had a positive experience 🙂 Try not to worry. Different bodies and different experiences but you can have a positive induction 🩷

I had mine at 39 + 2 with my first due to high blood pressure. I had the pessary in at 19.00pm on the tuesday first and started to go into labour naturally so they wouldn’t put any more in. The contractions were getting abit stronger 12pm on the wednesday by 3pm they were getting unbearable so they checked me i was 8cm so was taken to labour ward and had gas and air, was 10cm for a couple of hours but they wouldn’t break my waters due to risk of infection. Finally they broke my waters around 21:00pm started pushing at 21:30pm and she was out by 22:05pm was really smooth other than waiting around, it would have been better if i didn’t have to be monitored on the machine i couldn’t walk around to get it going quicker but it was all worth it. Good luck 🥰
