@Nina oh yes and the dealing with crying/tummy issues, she finally just pooped so is a bit happier! I just got back from a little dog walk but she was crying in the carrier the whole time I get up around 7 because my husband brings our toddler in to say byebye before nursery I’m just wondering if I need to be doing more like tummy time and entertaining her. But when she will actually lay nice on her play mat or sit in the bouncer it’s a good little break!
Ah right sorry misread the question. Tbh personally I would focus on what she needs. You know her best and know when she's content, undertired or overstimulated. If you constantly try to entertain and stimulate, she could get overwhelmed and end up crying anyway. I would have thought that if they are bored and need extra stimulation, babies would tell you by crying and whingeing. I know my little prince is very loud and clear when he wants attention 😁 I sometimes also feel that I should be doing more, but on the other hand I can't actually fit more stuff in unless I wake him up from naps, which is obviously not a good idea. We'll just do stuff when we are ready so I push those "Maybe you should..." thoughts aside and carry on my way. As long as they develop normally and reach the milestones I don't think there should be an issue ...
Honestly, take time to relax. Babies don't need constant stimulation. We have 3 things a week we go to and regularly get out for walks but on inside days we do some songs and stories, playmat/tummy time but mostly, we leave each other alone (I obvs feed and change her when needed).
We did nothing all day pretty much 😂 i only went out for the 2nd time with baby today since his birth (he's 12 weeks). If he's okay on the playmat by himself i just leave him be, but most of the time he just wants me to be near him. Tummy time, listening to music together (my music and i can sing to him, he enjoys linkin park more than he should), put him in a bouncer chair in the kitchen when i wash his bottle, talk to him. Most of the time feeding and getting him ready for a nap will take most of the time of the day already.
Oh wow how did you squeeze all that into one morning?? What time do you get up? I have a two month old and I only managed to feed him, nappy change, took my dog out for a walk, had my own breakfast, then another feed, then dealing with his trapped wind and spitting up milk, and then I've been stuck with him in my lap as he wouldn't sleep anywhere else. Oh yeah I activated my new SIM card too 🤣 So as far as I'm concerned you've done loads! You could go for a walk if the weather is ok?
