Idk what to do

I’m 31 weeks pregnant. I tore a muscle in my lower abdomen/pelvic area 2 days ago. I have needed help walking, going to the bathroom, showering, etc. since then. Today, I woke up feeling a bit better. However, I’m still moving extremely slow. I have a follow up appointment tomorrow. But my concern is my job. I currently work full time as a vet assistant. I know that I am unable to do my job in the state that I am currently in, but my job does not care. They have kept my shift for this weekend the same and moved my time back for tomorrow but again I will not be able to do my job. I’m unsure of what to do or say. Part of me just wants to stop working all together because of it. But I know we could use the extra income. I’m just worried that I will re-injure myself or make it worse and I’m unsure of what to do. Has anyone else experienced this? What did you or would you do in my situation?

Have u tried a hot water bottle to ease the pain a little ? I would also contact ur midwife just to see what advice she might have for u

if you have a doctors note & fmla with restrictions, your job has to honor it. i would contact your job regarding their process for being out on fmla with certain restrictions, and that way you could still work also. at my workplace, you have to find reasonable accomodations so i had associates who couldn’t stand for long periods of time, but once they got their paperwork, i was able to allow them to use a chair and to not be scheduled to get carts/go outside (i work in a grocery store though).

@Kassie I have, it helps a little. I’m gonna be in contact with her tomorrow for my appointment

@Kaja I’m gonna ask my doctor for a note tmrw. But I am worried that they won’t honor it as they haven’t for other women in the past

If they don’t honor your doctors note, you can tell HR and whoever writes you up/fires you despite having a note will get in a lot of trouble.

If it comes to it you could always take early maternity leave if you talk to your midwife they might be able to help with that
