I assume it may because of your fasting level first thing in the morning? It’s exceptionally hard to manage compared to other readings that are influenced by food
@Josie 🩵 your readings are really similar to mine. I think the only thing that made me feel better was the midwife reassuring me it’s nothing I’ve done or that I’m eating the wrong things. Apparently fasting readings are the hardest to control unfortunately. In my area its 39-39+6 weeks for delivery if your levels are controlled with metformin and if you need to have insulin its from 37 weeks onwards. It is really overwhelming I agree! Just try to think of the end goal 🥰
@Josie 🩵 you’re welcome lovely! Waheyyy that’s amazing! Fingers crossed it continues to do the trick for you! 🥰 I’m honestly 50/50 at the moment, I think for me it depends on how she’s measuring on my next couple of growth scans although I know they aren’t always accurate. If she’s estimated to be a bigger baby then I’d likely go down the route of an elective c section..I’ve heard some amazing things about them! Everyone that I know who’s opted for an elective has said how they’d do it over and over again and how it was the most relaxing magical experience. There’s so many things to think about..I also need to pack my hospital bag at some point 😅
@Maria yeah it’s still going down post meals but I have also instantly changed my diet, so wonder if that’s having biggest impact, who knows! My baby is 95th percentile, always has been. I am considering an elective, I really don’t want to be induced due to all the research I have done on this, but also don’t want to risk waiting till 40+2 weeks maybe for natural delivery and then something could go wrong cos of the GD 🤔 my preference would be to wait but that could be more ‘risky’ not sure!
Similar to me, I’m 30+4 and just been prescribed Metformin. I don’t have an issue with my after meal levels (touch wood) it’s my fasting that’s the problem. Only borderline though usually 5.3/5.4. I wasn’t given an option to try and control it through diet, maybe it would of been different if it wasn’t my fasting levels. They’ve said I’d need to be induced between 39-39+6 weeks but want to avoid induction at all costs if I can 🙁 baby is measuring just above the 50th centile at the moment.
