@Caitlin hi I’m 13 weeks what about you? and only doing about 3000 steps a day at the minute 🫣
I was totally useless in first trimester just felt rubbish so I didn’t put any pressure on myself to do anything except walk my dog. I’m 25 weeks now and am getting probs 8000 steps and doing a couple of workouts (weights, pilates) per week. The official guidance is 150 mins per week moderate exercise xx
In my first trimester, I did around 20000 steps a day, and did 1 hour of additional exercise each day (at least 5 days a week). In the first half of my second trimester, I pretty much did the same. Since 20 weeks, I’ve done at least 1 hour of exercise a day (resistance, dance classes, boxercise, Pilates) as I follow RWL’s prenatal programme and I’ve walked around 8000-10000 steps a day. I was VERY active before pregnancy. I’m 26.5 weeks now x
I only walk the dog for around 45 mins per day and try to get between 7-10k steps. I struggle to do any more than this.
I’m only 7 weeks! I will try and do more but it is really difficult in this trimester I do agree!
I’m 28 weeks and the first trimester was a complete write off, when I gained energy back I was still only doing about 3 sessions a week in the gym of weights and pelvic floor stretches and swimming, and I have dogs that have two walks a day. But I do not monitor steps, now 28 weeks and I get about two sessions of light weight training in the gym with pelvic floor & I still walk my boys if not twice a day definitely once. But the rest of the time I am an absolute sloth because my body can’t do anything else and that’s ok:)
I try to go on at least one walk a day with my partner and dogs. It’s good for my mental health. I went back to the gym for a couple sessions at 18 weeks pregnant as I was very sick leading up to that 😩🙃
If you have the energy try some light workouts. YouTube is great as you can do it completely at your pace. My best advice is don’t worry too much about what you’re supposed to do. Try to be responsive to your body; try to get more activity in when you have more energy, but conversely rest when you feel exhausted. Exercise like yoga and Pilates are good to keep flexibility and support with back pain etc. But try not to put pressure on yourself.
I have to start exercising too because I currently do barely any walking! Maybe around 3000 steps a day but I also don’t know how much is enough! How many weeks are you if you don’t mind me asking? ☺️
