They go through a development stage at that my girl was the same this week, there wasn't a lot I could do to comfort her either, but it gets better😅
My baby has been like this since about 2 weeks old 😩 it's painful. She's 5 weeks today, and she's still going strong. It's becoming relentless. She starts around about now until about 1am/2am xx
Ive had the typical witching hour period at night but never in the day and for this long. It's very painful she's knackered now sleeping on me and I'm not surprised after how she's been. I'm wishing the time away at the moment I can't lie 😪
It’s so hard. Do you have an infant carrier or a sling? She might bode well sitting up (the carrier is good for this) also skin to skin. My baby is super chill when she is in it now. I go out with her for a while most days and really struggle when I don’t because she cries a lot!!
We've just put some music on at a loudish/average volume and it's settled her, now fast asleep xx
Mine started at 5 weeks being really fussy due to acid reflux, after every feed I have to keep him upright for 20 mins at least to avoid the screaming but it definitely helps, maybe give that a try?
My baby is 6 + 3 and he is the same, he has been since week 3 now, it is really difficult and don’t feel guilty for wishing time away. Me and my partner keep doing the same hoping for the time he starts food and it helps his little tummy! You can get through it don’t worry❤️
they go through a development stage between 6-8 weeks so it could be this! there’s a great app called the wonder weeks which tells you all about the development stages and when to expect them etc. between 6-8 weeks they’re expected to be fussier than normal, so may cry more/want feeding more/be more cranky. hang in there! xx
Hello - I downloaded this wonder weeks app but it’s asking for a paid subscription and I can not see a way around it? Can we use the app without a paid subscription? Thanks :)
@Lisa no. I don’t think so!!
Doh! 🙂
I've got the wonder weeks app this is my 2nd baby and my 1st I really don't remember it being this bad and she's only 2.5 years old haha. Thank you everyone. She's been chilled all evening so far but wondering what tonight will bring 🤔
I’m so sorry. Crying does increase after two weeks (I was given this leaflet by the hospital) which I found reassuring I.e what to expect and when). Although it does point out the obvious not to shake your baby and give yourself time to decompress etc. My baby was peak fussy at night time and I nearly expired at around 4-5 weeks. It was ROUGH!! Worth checking temp, offering a bath, maybe baby massage. Their digestive system is also really immature at this stage and they can get so distressed. https://elht.nhs.uk/application/files/2416/0796/6994/ICON_LEAFLET.pdf#:~:text=Your%20baby%20may%20start%20to,less%20and%20less%20each%20week.
