Toddler told me to stop talking.

My 3 year old just said ‘Mommy stop talking, you’re annoying me’ and then covered his ears. … I’m actually shocked.

I’d find this hilarious if mine said this to me when she was 3 😂 think she probably did tbh

My 3yo said to me this week “Can you just stop talking now; I’ve heard it all already” with a little stop hand ✋ …. Like, excuse me?! 😳

@Chloe where do they learn this! lol if it wasn’t so adorable it would be so rude.

@Katrina I feel like I have a teenager

My 3 year old tells me to stop talking all the time! 😫

And singing! 😲😳

We get that all the time. And his newest one “mama you need to calm down” 😂😂😂

That’s a threenager right there!🤣

@Lucy I’m always getting told off for singing 😂

@Lauren so rude isn’t it 🤣

My two year old says things like this all the time 🤪. She says ‘stop talking I’m trying to have a conversation’ when me and my husband talk! Or ‘stop talking guys’ yesterday she told me she was ‘a bit busy right now so I can’t talk’ when I was trying to talk to her about something. And if I do things that annoy her like singing along to songs she says ‘can you stop doing that’. When I reflect it is humorous but sometimes in the moment it drives me wild 😂❤️! X

@Molly I get that one too. ‘Mommy I’m busy’ lol… well I’m glad it’s not just me.

@Lucy I thought I was a good singer 🤣🤣

It's good language and it also is good development in the sense that she can verbalise her needs well. A polite way to say it might be "my ears and my brain need a break". That's what I say when I want my kids to stop talking.

My 2 year old does this when I sing to him!! 🤣 “umm, no thank you mummmy please stop” 🤣🤣

@Ella Omg amazing, I’ll be using this from now on, my stepson is so loud - thank you! 🤣

Welcome to the club 😅

My 2 year old will tell us to stop talking, especially in the car 😂

@Sam my son says oh shit it shit man whenever he drops something too lol definitely came from me. Didnt really realize how I speak lol

Haha this is my daughter but she must recognise my facial expression as she quickly adds "baby is trying to sleep" 😂

At least your 5 year old son didn’t tell you, “you ruined my life” 😭😭

My toddler doesn’t do that to me personally but when I have my sisters over and we’re talking over one another or we’re cackling loud he covers his ears and says “too loud! Stop laughing” and then it gets us on the floor and we are laughing pissing ourselves even more lmao coz at this age we’d thought he’d be used to our loudness but, nope 😂 he finds us too loud lmao. Toddlers get overwhelmed just as much as us adults do 💁🏻‍♀️ sometimes they just want their quiet.

Hahahaha that made me laugh. They are 3 going on 13 ain’t they. I think 3-4 is worst then 2 lol I went in to get her up this morning and she saw me and said oh it’s you. Where’s daddy 😭😭😭

I’m so confused why everyone finds this funny 🙃 they need to learn this is rude

@Amy no don’t say that, mines turning 3 in a few weeks!! 🙈

@Lauren we are, they’re just jealous!

@Elena I’m pretty sure we’re all correcting them but we’re allowed to laugh too. That’s what having a toddler is all about. They don’t have a filter at this age.

Mine is 20 months and says “Stop” and puts her hand gently across my mouth 🤣

My daughter told me I’m a “kill joy brazen ass” a few weeks ago because I wouldn’t let her drink the bath water🫠

@Lucy but are you laughing when they say it infront of them or once they’ve left the room or you’ve turned your back?

@Elena as I said we correct them, therefore don’t laugh. Don’t worry, we’re all perfectly capable of parenting our children but also realistic enough to know that children do and say these things ☺️

@Olivia that’s the best one 🤣

@Lucy a lot of people on this app aren’t. I was literally asking you a question as to what you did 😌

@Elena oh I know. I’ve answered your question ☺️

@Lucy they do come out with some things🤣🤦‍♀️ the best was my husband farted and she went up to him and said “dad I got to tell you, you fart like a donkey”🤣🤣 they it even the way they say the things so straight faced🫥🤣

@Olivia 🤣🤣

@Lucy wait till she finds out I find it hilarious when my 2 year old says fuck sake in context 😂

@Olivia 😂😂

@s a r a 🥀 the level of drama when they are upset is honestly theatrical.

@Katrina 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤣

The thing was, he wasn’t upset. He was playing or doing whatever he was at the time and just made a comment “you ruined my life”. I looked at my husband all shocked 😳 and I asked my husband if he heard what I heard 😭

@Katrina my 2 year old says this too😂

I agree with people who are saying that they should be corrected, but additionally, it is great that they can communicate their emotions so well! Maybe don’t correct them as such, saying that they shouldn’t say that, but teach them a better way to communicate that feeling in a way that wouldn’t upset someone. xx

My 4 year old will put his fingers up to his lips and go "sssssssshhhhhh" very aggressively until we shut up. And he called one of his aunts an ass a few days ago because she kept messing with him

When I go into my daughter in the middle of the night at times I hear her wake up/cry/coughing (when ill) I go in to comfort her and she says ‘go mummy’ she loves her own space and she hates that she wakes up in the night for whatever reason . 😂 I’m like sorry for being a caring mummy and checking on you when you seem sad or poorly 😂
