baby keeps pooping herself awake

its making it really difficult to keep her rash free. first night was a blow out. so we did bath, clean sheets and jams, clean diaper with antifungal rash cream, and back to bed. then she woke that day and had a skid mark in her diaper again then today it wasn’t a blow out but it almost entirely covered her in a rash and everything is making her cry. obviously i went straight for bath then her cream but i know she’ll have trouble staying asleep from the pain if / when she pees but idk what else her doc would do / tell me that i don’t already know. because i can only let her have so much diaper free time, and rash cream before all of the progress we were making, goes away instantly because she doesn’t wake up until it starts to hurt her

My mom suggested doubling diapers. Buy a box that’s one size bigger so it’ll go over the smaller diaper. Maybe set an alarm to check on her at some time in the night as a preventative measure.

You need to be using Desitin or another diaper rash cream and not anti fungal. My baby is 2 weeks old and I use desitin during every diaper change even though she’s never had a diaper rash to protect her from getting one. You should also be checking your baby’s diaper every hour or two especially if your baby is under 6 months old because they poop/shart frequently

I agree with the others, setting alarms to check on your daughter often might be the only way preventing all this. Idk what antifungal cream you're using but I recommend switching to Cicaplast Balm B5.

Set alarms throughout the night so you can check if she’s poo’d

Destin gets rid of rashes usually in 24 hours

@Brittany 🫶🏼 @Yazzy it was an anti fungal diaper rash cream that her doctor prescribed last time she had a rash that wouldn’t go away (even with regular use of destin) and she said that the germs from her pooping is what gave her the rash so she needed an antifungal to combat that. idk what’s it in tho lol

i ended up having a similar issue with my daughter, she has really sensitive skin, we switched diaper brands and they gave us some medicaded diaper cream, and we've had to refill that prescription again... my daughter also suffers from ulcers that formed because of a bad diaper rash, her pediatrician told me to just always put cream on at diaper change whether it be desten or aquaphor

Are you using aquaphor?

@Monet i’ve tried it when i misplace her cream bc i keep a bottle on the nightstand but i haven’t used it as regularly as the rash cream

Corona healed up a really terrible rash on my son. We tried everything and nothing was helping much. He was popping a lot and the rash was awful. The corona healed it fast.

Try a stronger cream and less protein before bed if she is on solids

I like using it because it creates a barrier between the skin and poop and helps prevent it a lot. They have an aquaphor diaper cream and the healing ointment and I use them in that order together.

Have you tried vaseline on babies bum to help protect it. I found it worked better than sudacrem
