Name change

Has anyone changed their last name without being married? Partner and I aren’t fussed on being married but I want to share my baby’s last name. (I don’t like our names double-barrelled) Is the process easy? How long does it take?

Is it being married that you arnt fussed about or a wedding? You could get married easily for about £70 I think which would of course in turn allow you to change your name. If you decide later on you want a wedding you can celebrate at a later date. If not then you still share your partners last name. That’s the only way I can think of xx

You can change your last name via depol. Had a friend who got married but they both wanted to change their name to a new name

You can do a simple change of name deed at a solicitors office e. It’s one price of A4 and super easy to do. Just google Change of Name Deed template… it needs to be signed off properly though but sometimes solicitors will do this with super minimal fee!

Can change ur name via deed poll

I have, I changed my surname to my mothers maiden name, you can do it via deed poll online very easily I think it costs about £20, the most expensive and time consuming part is getting the extra copies and changing your name everywhere with them

I have, did it via deed poll! Super easy and I just mentioned it at my recent midwife appointment. She made sure it was changed on the system so that baby would be born with that surname! Cost about £25 including postage (I would get a copy of the certificate too just in case you loose it! It was an extra £2 for me) happy to answer any other questions! Just drop me a message x
