I didnāt in either of my pregnancies. My BMI is 34 currently and I had my second baby 3 weeks ago.
I would take it anyway. Its such a small thing that can prevent miscarriage caused by blood clots and other issues. It wont hurt baby and is so beneficial theres no reason not to take it
Also prevents pre-eclampsia
I got this last time with my daughter due to bmi but I hardly took it tbh. Think I gave up after about 20 weeks. This time they never mentioned it for my weight at all but Iām high risk for another reason so was given it for that. Iām being put on blood thinning injections from 28 weeks this time due to my weight (having an elective section) x
I did in my first but as he came out at a good birth weight and I had no other risk factors other then BMI I donāt have to take it this second time round š
I refused to take it as Iāve had 9 episodes of bleeding in this pregnancy. They asked me if I was taking it at my 13 week appointment and I said no. The next day I had my first bleed and in my head taking something that could thin my blood didnāt seem right. Iām also allergic to NSAIDs Iāve reacted to childās liquid ibrupfoen and naproxen. While Iāve never reacted to aspirin my doctors have just said avoid it
So my first 2 pregnancies (both ended in miscarriage) I was told to take aspirin. My 3rd pregnancy I wasnāt (unsure if the midwife just forgot or what) but it wasnāt until I seen a consultant at our maternity unit at maybe 14 weeks that I was told I should be taking it, he actually rang me in a panic as I was leaving the appointment and told me to come back in as he had missed it. Definitely think itās worth double checking. I ended up just buying it from b and m though for like 89p rather than fannying on with prescriptions š¤š¤ x
