LCWRA

Is anyone else on universal credit and has LCWRA and tried to apply for the 85% back on childcare costs but haven’t been successful?

Do you work or have a partner who works? If not then you can't claim the 85% back for childcare. I'm a solo mum, disabled amd get LCWRA and PIP and can't claim anything other than the 2yr 15 hours funding then the 3yr funding

My son has just started to do another session on top of his funded sessions and I’ve had to pay a whole month in advance so I’ve payed for December already but haven’t been asked for the invoice or proof yet? He’s done some extra sessions since he’s starting in September and I’ve managed to claim the 85% back on those odd days but I left a note in my journal just to ask when I’ll get the message to prove the invoice and payment. Have they basically said ‘no, you’re not entitled?’ Xx

I’m a single parent and I don’t work due to health reasons so I don’t think I’m entitled to the 85% back unfortunately

@Tammy does your hubby work? If so do you work or get LCWRA or carers? If hubby works and you don't work then you can only claim the 85% if you have a disability or are caring for a disabled person

Yeah my husband and I both work but I’ve managed to claim it back on some of these odd days he’s done at nursery and I haven’t had a problem yet until I’ve paid for this month because his hours are going up?

I dont know how lcwra effects it but to be eligible for 85% you have to be in work and the hours you claim back 85% for have to meet an equivalent of hours you work. For example if I only worked 20 hours but I claimed 40 hours of childcare I'd be refused

@Tammy it could be as you can't claim until they've used the hours, can't be claimed back in advance x

@Jodie if you had a partner that works and one claims LCWRA or carers you can claim childcare costs If you're single and don't work regardless of having LCWRA or carers you can't claim the help

@Heather hiya! I hope you don’t mind me asking how did you know you qualify for the 15 hours I have been struggling to find anything about it x
