Unsure If this is normal

Is anyone's little one headbutting everything?, my son is wanting to literally hit his head on whatever he can including: walls, radiator, our heads, dogs, his toys etc.....is this a normal development thing or do I need to be concerned?, he dosent have an ear infection or anything so isn't that, he just seems to do it constantly since about 3 weeks ago. I am concerned he may have autism too as he sometimes flaps his hands, holds his ears and would rather play alone but I don't know If I'm just worrying for no reason as his dad has mild autism...
