Anyone lose their mucus plug and didn’t trigger premature labour??

I forced a bit when I had my bowel movement this morning…Then I saw that I had about an inch goop of mucus plug in the toilet paper when I wiped. I’m only at 30.5 weeks! 😱 am I going to go into premature labour??

No, my OB told me losing your mucus plug means absolutely nothing unless there's blood as it can regenerate I lost mine starting at 20 weeks with both pregnancies and it continued until they were born

Don’t worry, you can lose it quite a few times and it can just regenerate x

As long as you’re not experiencing contractions, pain, etc. If you start to then I would call triage and get checked over xx

TMI but I’ve been losing mucus that goes from inside and down to my knees from 20wks. Lost a thick disc like piece of mucus also. And been losing pieces almost every week. Baby is still quite comfy/healthy and happy where she is. Try not to stress mama. As long as it’s not accompanied by cramps/pain or blood you’re likely all good. The one that signals labour is nearer is your bloody show ❤️ If you’re at all worried you could always call your hospital and express your concerns.

Can I ask what a mucus plug is?

@Cat it’s basically a thick mucus like plug that blocks the opening of your cervix when your pregnant. Stops things from entering the cervix (bacteria/infection)

I lost mine 4 days before I actually went into labor. It just kept coming back
