Late period or user error ?

I was suppose to start my period on thanksgiving but it’s still not here, my period is usually at the end of the month and ends in the beginning of next month. For almost a week leading up to my period I had mild cramps only and then the day of my period I had no cramps at all anymore. I did use the bathroom at 3am cuz I had to go bad and I took a test later when I didn’t have lots of urine🫠 and it came out negative. Did I do the test wrong? Or is this a sign that I’m actually not prego.
