I am due in April and starting to think about what I need to buy for breastfeeding before he’s born. Any recommendations of things you couldn’t live without would be so helpful 🍼

A warm/cool pack and silverettes have been helpful, nipple cream! and a passive collector(one that fits in your shirt preferably) have been lifesavers

Hii. I wouldn't buy anything until you start... The reason why is I find everyone finds different things. You can go to Boots/Amazon and get things when and if you need them as so many things I bought I never used.

Breast pads! I'm still using them 5 months in 🤣

lotsssssss of breast pads, I was like a fountain the first three months of breastfeeding 🤣 also nipple cream because you can get quite sore and your nipples can crack when you’re starting out x

Honestly the beauty of breastfeeding is you don't need anything Though breast pads are probably a good shout Nipple cream/balm is way over used. It's for moist wound healing. Putting it on when you don't have an injury can cause blebs and can make baby's latch slip

I wear these t shirts to bed sooo soft very comfy and convenient! Only started wearing them once my supply levelled out though x https://amzn.eu/d/eH6JD36

Breast pads and a nursing pillow are the only things I am still using after 4 months. I used silverettes and nipple cream here and there the first couple of weeks

I found these helpful personally: a pump (if you want to pump), bottles, nursing pads, nursing bras, a nursing pillow to help your back and a haaka to catch your letdown (again, only if you also want to introduce bottles of expressed milk). Nipple balm is also a good shout for sore nipples but personally I found putting breast milk on them and letting them air out helped more than nipple cream.

My must-haves: Nursing tank tops, medela hydrogel pads (in the early days), nipple balm, breast pump(s), boppy pillow, sunflower lecithin to help avoid clogs, and patience! Lots of patience lol. Join the group LATCHED on FB too, you will find lots of helpful tips and advice there. Also highly recommend seeing a lactation consultant as soon as baby is born to assess baby’s latch and get your proper flange size for pumping. Also, if you will be bottle feeding in any capacity - make sure you choose a bottle that helps support baby’s latch. Our doc recommended dr browns anti colic so that’s what we use!

Cooling pads incase you get mastisis/blocked ducts! But to be fair I went away on holiday and didnt have them so used a cold can of pepsi instead and that done the trick

Elvie curves were my life savers! I built a whole stash just from collecting what leaked while nursing lol

Nursing pillow!!!! I can't live without mine

Thanks so much everyone for your recommendations!
