How to not gain too much weight in pregnancy

I’m 20 weeks and I’ve gotten to the point where I’m constantly starving, even when I’ve just eaten. I know it’s normal to gain weight in pregnancy but I don’t wanna gain too much weight as I REALLY struggle to lose it

If your hungry eat. Can you talk with a nutritionist about what your eating or how to get full more off of meals? As you stated gaining weight is unavoidable but it can become unhealthy to not eat especially when growing a baby.

@Elizabeth no I definitely eat very well, my issue is that I will finish my meal and be super hungry again 10 mins later 😂😂😂

Try and eat protein rich meals, or eat a lot of fruit and veg to fill up? Listen to your body. If you need to eat then eat.

That's me even post pregnancy 🤣🤣🤣 I don't think it's unavoidable tbh, but definitely talk with a nutritionist or your Dr!

That was me my entire pregnancy! Honestly I just ate a lot of little snacks (mostly vegetables and fruit because that’s what I would typically eat before I was pregnant).. my best advice, if you’re hungry than eat. I always thought well, baby is probably taking a bit of everything I eat which is why I am constantly hungry! I only gained total 40lbs, and my baby came out 7.3lbs (I was probably under weight when I got pregnant so gaining 40lbs was a good number for me).. so I’d say just eat a healthy snack when you’re hungry!

Eat healthy fats like avocados

@Amanda I didn’t gain anything during my first pregnancy because I was sick for most of it so I stayed the same weight thru it all and even lost a bit but gained quite a bit after as I got crazy breastfeeding hunger. This time around is completely different 😂😂 I’ve been eating loads of veg but atm I hate most foods that I loved so I’m finding it hard to eat healthy tbh

I know it's hard, but try not to eat the foods that cause a ton of weight gain (fast foods, simple carbs, potatoes) I gained so much with my first because potatoes were the only thing that helped with my heartburn

Protein is so key in pregnancy and will also keep you full for longer!
