Gassy Baby

My daughter was born on 11/6 and is sooo gassy. She seems so uncomfortable shortly after eating, especially at night when she cluster feeds/sucks for comfort. We recently tried introducing the pacifier to her and it is hit or miss if she will take it. When she does take it, she seems satisfied. I also got mylicon gas relief drops to see if that helps. Does anyone have any other tips on how to get her to be less gassy? Is it something I am eating? I don’t really drink a lot of milk unless it’s in my coffee, but it is such a small amount.

Following! On the same boat as you

Same boat here ugh.

Same here 😭

everyone recommends gripe water but it wasn’t as effective for my 3 week old as the gas drops by mommy’s bliss were (I think works the same as mylicon).. they work almost instantaneously and apparently are safer than gripe water. they break the big uncomfortable gas bubbles into smaller bubbles which are much easier for baby to process. try to burp baby after every oz or so, or once in between the feed and once after gently massaging lower tummy in a clockwise motion with some oil really helps too, as well as holding baby in a football hold which calms baby down right away. you can also look up stretches that help relieve gas and I usually follow those up with the bicycle to help farts come out lol other than that someone highly recommended the gripe belt to me by Dr brown to me but didn’t work amazingly for me

My son was born 11/3 and he's also super gassy/colicky at night. We do mylicon or colic calm on nights he's especially bad but otherwise paced feeding, extra burps, pacifier and keeping him upright for 10-15 minutes after feeds has made a huge difference. I also cut out dairy from my diet and that has definitely helped him too, even though I didn't eat a lot of dairy on a regular basis to begin with. We just bought a bed insert that's designed for babies with reflux and he slept better last night than he has since coming home from the hospital but I don't want to give a recommendation based off of one night....I'm hopeful that it will continue to help though! 🤞🏼

We do gas drops and experimenting different ways to burp him. He particularly likes being held upright and facing out with a little bounce. Also, just keeping him upright for at least 30 minutes after eating. I was also recommended to do tummy time with a low heat pad and blanket to help with gas.

Our pediatrician recommended gas drops BEFORE every feeding and our gassy issue has gotten significantly better!!!

We've got mylicon after feedings, I combo'd with gripe water also today since she was inconsolable. Our pediatrician recommended probiotic drops also. Breastfeeding & hypoallergenic formula... lotsssss of burping... sitting upright during bottle feeding & for a while after. I have no idea whyyyyy she's so gassy 😭 I'm lactose intolerant (cheese & ice cream are my weakness tho), so I'm not exactly sure what could be contributing to it. *I'll have to try the drops before a feeding & see how it goes. Thanks for the tip @Katrina
