Clary sage? 🍃

Just out of interest, has anyone had or heard of any success using clary sage to induce? I’ve started using some in a diffuser around the house as my midwife recommended that it’s totally safe and potentially effective from 37 weeks

I’ve had it recommended but unsure if it was based on anecdotal evidence or not! I’ve bought some off amazon but was told to use it in the bath? Will try it in a diffuser though!

Yes! I’ve been using since 37 weeks, now 38+2…no luck as of yet but my best friend went into labour the day after smelling it so I believe it might be effective ?! (Or just a coincidence!) I drop some on a stack of cotton wool pads and smell it

I have been using it and absolutely love the smell. I have it in a diffuser and I often put it in the bath too. No signs of labour though! I really hope something happens soon. Due on Wednesday and there are NO signs 😂 I’ll do anything at this point

@Becky interesting! I read you can also put a drop on the sole of each foot before bed so I’ll be trying that when I’m a bit closer to my due date!

@Harriet ahhh you’re so nearly there! 🫶 are you expressing colostrum? I know that breast and nipple stimulation can help get things going and I always get braxton hicks when I’m expressing

@Izzy so so close! When are you due? Yes I have been! I do get some wriggles and some tightening when expressing. Hopefully I get some true signs soon xx

@Harriet I’m not due until the 20th and I’m already fed up so can’t imagine how ready you must feel 😅 good luck! Xx

I used it every day with my first and it didn’t do anything with inducing labour but it was amazing to smell and relax xx

@Harriet I’m due Wednesday too! I can feel baby has dropped but otherwise had no signs! I’m so done with being pregnant, I’ve been eating dates, drinking raspberry leaf tea, doing exercise on the birth ball and expressing colostrum. I haven’t tried clary sage but will give it a try and see if that can help bring her along. I know that baby will come when baby is ready but I’ll try anything to feel like I’m helping her along.
