Cervix check

You can definitely request it. I've been getting one every week since 37 weeks

I should do it, just so I know where I stand and what can I expect.. even tho my baby is in the same position and so high, I didn’t feel that she dropped at all 😭 My sister with her first baby didn’t go into labor since baby didn’t engage and at 42 weeks they did c section. I just don’t want that 😭

I had my first one at 38 weeks and I was 1cm dilated. Had another check at 39 weeks and I was still only 1cm dilated lol if your curious it’s safe to be checked and you can definitely request it but just keep in mind you can stay dilated the same up until you actually go into labour. It’s sadly not an indicator of when baby will come

I’ve been getting checked since 36 weeks. At my 36 I was 70% effaced 1cm dilated but baby was still up high. Last week at my 37 week, I was about the same but my OB said my cervix had softened quite a bit. It’s definitely worth asking to give you an idea of where you’re at. I’ll probably ask for another check this upcoming week if baby isn’t here yet ☺️

I’ll be 38 weeks tomorrow but I see my doctor on Monday. I’m thinking to do cervix check or both a membrane sweep as well. I got my first cervix check at 36 weeks and I’m 1cm dilated. My doctor mentioned about it and told me it was up to me if I wanted one or not. I was curious too, so why not? Baby is also heads down. You can definitely request for one!
