Sweep

I have a sweep booked a week Monday and I'm so nervous. Does it hurt? How long does it take etc? Thanks!

No doesn't hurt a little uncomfortable my midwife only did them for a few minutes each time 5 max I've had 3 now and no sign of baby yet x

It depends on the midwife tbh. I had one with my first and it hurt like hell and I was 2cm dilated. With my second I had 2 sweeps and they were just uncomfortable one i was 0.5cm and the other i was 1cm. Usually takes a couple mins if that x

Doesn’t hurt, abit uncomfortable it probably depends on how effaced etc you are. Abit like a smear test if you’ve had one x

Mine didn't hurt at all but my best friend said she jumped up off the bed screaming it hurt so much so i guess it's different for everyone x

I nearly jumped off the bed 😂 it was definitely sore but it’s quite quick . The cramping after can be uncomfortable tho

I got one on Thursday at 38 weeks, was only 1/5 engaged, cervix was only a tiny bit open and she did it within seconds. Only hurt a little, breath through it x

Both of mine hurt with my first two children but they worked and I went into labour afterwards so was definitely worth it! I didn’t need one with my third but I’m booked to have one with this baby. Although it hurt it hasn’t put me off having it done again. Maybe it depends on the midwife xxx
