Umbilical Cord Help!!
Hello everyone, I’m a FTM and not sure if this is what an umbilical cord should look like on day 7.
It’s been a bit smelly, but health visitor assured us all is fine on day 5.
Today we took her out in her car seat for the first time and think it nudged the clip off a little bit… It revealed like a moist, yellowy bit inside, which was slightly bloody and irritated. I’ve cleaned it with cool, boiled water and the yellowy bit doesn’t seem gloopy, seems more formed like the umbilical cord when she was born, but still moist.
Is this normal? I’ve rang 111 and waiting on them to call back, but they can’t see what I’m seeing. Thank you in advance!!

I asked my midwife to check my little boys today as his was bleeding. She said it would smell really bad through his baby grows and the skin around it would be really red if infected. Ours looked like this before it fell off, now it’s just left a scab which is still oozing. She said it was normal until the scab has heeled over and fallen off. I still haven’t bathed him and he’s 2 weeks today! I don’t want to disturb it further.
