@Susan yeah if you didn’t have it with your last pregnancy it makes sense to assume you won’t have an issue this time. I did have preeclampsia with my last baby but he was showing restricted growth and I was super sick (infections and Covid) and this babys growth is ahead of schedule and I’m healthy so far. plus my blood pressure is typically quite low. I’m just worried I’m taking too high of a dose and I don’t know how I can handle taking it for much longer with how horrible I feel.
Im sorry to read about your last pregnancy being tricky... I would definately ask them to check the dose lovely... make sure you are happy with it! X
Im taking one 81mg a day because I’m “at risk” due to my weight. But it hasn’t made me dizzy. I have been taking it since 12 weeks I believe. Not sure if the dosage could be the issue
I am on aspirin now but also because of my age I think (41). I’m on 150mg a day x
I am taking 150 mg daily at night
I'm taking aspirin and eating pomegranate I read that helps prevent preeclampsia and I'm doing everything I can to not have that again.
@Christina ✨️ I haven’t heard about pomegranate I’ll have to try that
Here is what I found
I got a call after my blood test saying I have a low level of something and they prescribed aspirin as well. Got such a fright honestly. They say I might be high risk for preeclamsia.
@Christina ✨️ good to know thank you!
@Iva I’m sorry that so scary
Could have wrote this myself! I had preeclampsia with my first, which was a surprise because throughout my life I have experienced low blood pressure. I am convinced my daughter’s growth was restricted due to Covid because that seems to be when it started going downhill. Been put on 81 mils two times at night for this pregnancy. Have woken up a little dizzy a few times and soo soo tired.
@Hannah crazy! I definitely think it was the Covid that caused the preeclampsia my friend just had her son a few weeks ago and she developed preeclampsia after having Covid as well! Im going to talk to my dr next week about the dosage for the aspirin but my big goal this pregnancy is to not get Covid!
I will say I have been reading a lot about how a big second trimester symptom is a lot of dizziness and light headedness due to extra blood flow. Depending on timing do you think that could be the cause, not necessarily the aspirin?

@Ali maybe I had not thought of that. I guess I’m just worried because my first pregnancy didn’t feel anything like this. I wonder if taking one pill in the morning and one at night would make a difference since right now I’m taking both a night
Yeah, definitely still ask about it or split it like you said. Could still be the aspirin, I just keep seeing in my apps about watch for dizziness due to it being a common symptom so figured I would throw that out there
Mine has asked me to because of my age (40) however with my son at aged 37 I didn't and didn't have pre eclampsia. So I think it's just an age 'tick box' thing in my case. I suffer with terrible morning sickness and honestly no way I am putting anything acidic in my stomach for now lol... I also don't really like taking medication 'just because' unless I actually need it...
