Husband ruined my toddler

I am so God damn sick of this man . My toddler is an awful eater, she has never had any interest in food. She will eat like two bites of anything and then be done with it. I work so hard to try and feed her healthy food, cooking and sitting with her for hours a day just trying to get calories in her as she's dropping percentiles. Whenever I go to work I find my husband is giving her oreos, gummy bears, pop tarts, cheetos etc. And thinks it's funny and is like "oh it's only 2 gummy bears relax" "you said you wanted her to eat more calories and these have lots of calories" like literally reversing all the hard work I do to get her to enjoy healthy food. I consider what he is doing as child abuse and it makes me so mad. He is an awful eater too he refuses to eat normal food he basically lives on wendys and mcdonalds I don't know how he isn't fat yet. We are both naturally thin people with high metabolism and i assume our kid is too because shes just so small and i cant make any weight stick to her especially with her not wanting to eat and i dont want the doctor to get mad at me for her dropping the percentile. It makes me want to quit my job so he isn't alone with her feeding her garbage. Just needed to vent

I get needing to vent - but I don’t think some exposure to junk food is harmful. I wasn’t allowed to have junk food growing up and it made me obsessed and was harder for me to understand balance and develop healthy eating habits as an adult. There’s actually a study that kids who can’t have junk food are more likely to over indulge. Balance is good! And if she isn’t eating a lot, calories are good! https://www.today.com/parents/why-you-should-let-your-kids-eat-some-junk-food-1d79851272

Also - there are healthier versions of classic treats (without harmful dyes, etc) that may be a good swap to have in the house if your husband likes treats? Just a thought to reach a compromise?

Yes like chocolate covered strawberries, or jam and peanut butter on some medjool dates…banana chips with pb&J …sweet stuff is good as long as it’s plant based…salty snacks too like plantain chips and avocado, honey is great too , just try and experiment some things, don’t give up mama

I am the mom of the most terrible on earth. If you need advice,dm me.

I get your frustration hun but please.Coming from someone who went through it it’s actually triggering to see something so trivial labelled child abuse. It’s annoying I get it but just be aware that people actually go through that in real life. That being said I hope your baby starts to eat better. God bless

Ok. My daughter of 4 years old was tube fed as a baby. So you can understand the depth of the misery I am coming from. And I can tell you from experience that snacks did actually save our ass.
