Red eye reflex in retina
My little one has arrived at 38+3 via an emergency C-section and during the pediatric check, they said that he is having no red eye reflex and would be referred to further tests and checked by pediatric optometrist. Have any one come across a similar situation??

@Maddie thank you very much . Google was too scary and made me worried with the extreme possibilities. You are spot on, we have dark skin, may be that's why they couldn't find it.

Hi I work as a NICU nurse, we see this from time to time, usually the ophthalmologist will use dilating drops to get a better look. Try not to worry! Hope all goes well x (Also If you have darker skin tone it’s more common for it to be harder to see)
