Baby fell off the bed

So I sleep with my baby in the bed on the floor. It has a box and matress. I woke up to a loud band and her on the floor, almost like the sat up and then rolled off the bedand flipped. She landed on the back of her head. Idk what to do I feel so so so shitty. I feel a little bump forming on the back of her head where she fell. I know that I need to get her a crib...but do I need to take her to the hospital.?

How old is she? I removed my box springs and kept the mattress on my floor until my daughter was almost 2. I’d probably take to the hospital just to be safe bc of their heads being soft and skull not fully formed. But I wouldn’t be TOO worried. My toddler fell off a bench head first onto concrete and got a massive bump on her forehead. She was fine. They’re pretty resilient! Make sure the bump is raised and doesn’t indent and there’s no other symptoms (like lethargy, confusion, acting weird, fever, etc). But call her doctor either way and ask if they recommend you bring her in. Especially bc of her being so young

You definitely need to take ger to the hospital. She will need a CT Scan to be on the safe side

How old is she? The first time my baby fell off the bed was the only time she was asleep when she fell. Now she rolls off on purpose, but she is also one now. I’d take her to the er just to get checked

@Sarah 9 months

My 3 month old fell off the changing table (I know I felt absolutely horrendous and still do 2 years later) but a&e said to me that you just have to monitor them for 24 hours, make sure they aren’t showing signs of concussion like throwing up and also to just wake them gently throughout the night if they don’t wake naturally themselves. Accidents unfortunately happen but now you know steps to make sure they won’t happen again xx

Don’t feel bad accidents happen. She definitely needs a crib for safe sleep. Co sleeping isn’t always safe. To prevent this from happening again, put your mattress on the floor so that if she does roll, she won’t hurt herself. She’ll have a lot more accidents than that! Just keep an eye on her for 24hrs, if she starts showing any signs of discomfort, throwing up, drowsy etc take her straight to hospital but she should be fine xx

I got myself a wooden bed frame with wooden slats and a miracoli silentnight mattress that is baby suitable and I ordered bed rails from eBay. It’s like a separate clothed wall which you can use to block babies from getting out of bed or falling https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/364906884433?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=k2lumud2szy&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ovwsihcytsy&var=634493361270&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

You can buy just two if your bed frame is wooden and mattress is hard and has high headboard and footboard or buy as much as you need
