Does anyone know if the heath hospital will scan my stomach if I visit a&e? I’ve had some cramps that don’t feel like the cramps I’ve read about :(

Learn more about our guidelines.I went in with bleeding in early pregnancy last year A&E didn't scan me. They took blood and urine and took my vitals and sent me away with a referral to the EPU who saw me a couple of days later
Have you tried calling the obstetrics assessment unit? They were amazing when I had to go up x
No they won’t scan you, they do physical checks x
No. They don't have access to a uss scanner out of hours. I'm assuming you're pregnant. How many weeks are you? If it's early pregnancy, contact your Gp or Gp out of hours depending on how severe the cramps are, they will send you to EPAU if your further along phone your midwife. They will see you and get you in for a scan. Good luck. Hope everything is ok x
They have an early pregnancy unit which you can be referred to. If you are less than 17 weeks you need to speak to the GP first. Or you can contact the EPU directly but you’ll be in a queue. If you are very early, say 7-8 weeks, then they may do an internal scan rather than a stomach scan (I had this for bleeding).
