Its really tough, but unfortunately, if your little one is at the point of TSW, there's not much you can do to stop it happening. I went through TSW myself in 2021 so joined lots of support groups, and it seems that little ones tend to not be in withdrawal for too long 🤞 My best advice is zinc cream for when it's weepy to dry it out (drought secret zinc cream, back in stock 16th jan), scratch sleeves 24/7 to stop them doing more damage. Antihistamines can help with itching, and also look at a low histamine diet. As Katie said, erasing eczema on fb is really helpful, and I think there's also a group called "TSW caregivers rock"
Also, if you go the drs/dermatologist, they'll recommend creams like elidel/protopic. Do not touch them! They push them as they're 'not steroids' but they are immunosuppressive creams instead, and the withdrawal is even worse.
@Louise they prescribed elidel 6 months ago but i never used it. I feel so tempted to apply it or use steroid cream to soothe her itching because she really struggles.
Hey lovely, sorry about all you’re going through. I can imagine part of what you’re going through and say part as it’s different and difficult for each individual. Have you tried salcura outbreak rescue cream, there is a spray too that works hand in hand with it but if your child has a gluten intolerance best not to use the spray
I didn’t use steroids for my daughter, it’s tempting to but just know if the affects and would rather not due to people I know that have tsw
We went through TSW. The steroids are not worth it! Look up the group Erasing Eczema on Facebook. They have great protocol and supports!
