Milk and solids schedule

Guys I'm so overwhelmed by all this. Is this schedule okay?? She never wakes up at the same time so sometimes we have to shift things forward or back a bit. 6.30- wake up 6.45-7- I make her porridge with her formula and then she drinks the rest of the bottle 9- nap 10-10.30ish - bottle 12.30- lunch - we offer things like toast and sandwiches with baby puree as a back up 1.30/2ish - nap 3.30 - bottle 5.30 - dinner - she has what we have with baby food as back up again. 7- bottle and bed time (She sometimes wakes in the night and won't sleep without a bottle at the moment too) I don't know how I'm supposed to go from 4 (sometimes 5) bottles in a 24 hour period down to 3 in less than 9 weeks 😫😫 as well as weaning off of a bottle too to a regular cup. Should I be dropping either the mid morning or mid afternoon bottle and swapping it for snacks? TIA, one overwhelmed mumma 😫😫

Oh wow please don’t stress you are doing really well! Just remember food is for fun before one, milk is most important my son didn’t drop his night time bottle until 2.5 years old. Also you don’t need to drop bottles yet that’s for sure don’t stress you don’t need to go from 4 to 3 by a certain age at all. My son was having 5-6 bottles until he was one and I just swapped bottles for snacks and he was fine. Regular cup for milk don’t stress about that either. My schedule if helps is Milk 7 Breakfast 8 Nap 10 Milk 11 Lunch 12 Nap 2 Milk 3 Dinner 5:30 Milk 6 Bed-7-7:30 Also I see you do formula milk for porridge which is absolutely fine but you can also use full fat cows milk for porridge it doesn’t have to be formula, they can have cows milk in stuff, they just can’t drink it until their one. Hope this helps a little xx

Heyy just wanted to come on and say we’ve only just moved to 4 bottles, have a very similar routine and have varied wake times too. He’s still having around 27-30oz of milk a day and on 3 meals- I’m not concerned at all. I’m not going to be introducing snacks until he’s ready for it - as formula/BM should still be primary source of nutrition at this age. If you’re doing BLW between 9-12 months they naturally start to eat more of their food (I’ve already noticed an increase) so expecting it to get more in volume over the next few weeks/months and with that the milk volume will naturally come down. I’ve also not thought about weaning off the bottle but I know he can drink from a straw cup fine so may start giving him some milk at his food feeds to get him used to it. I found this reassuring about the volumes of milk that is absolutely normal: - https://solidstarts.com/feeding-schedules/ Try not put too much pressure on yourself

I breastfeed so don’t understand the bottle situation but you sound like you are smashing it. It is hard to fit it all in around activities, getting stuff done and napping particularly if teething, fighting naps. We haven’t nailed a consistent get up either, we do for a bit then it changes. Happy healthy babies are what matter!

We are in a similar routine and I feel the same. We are normally only 4 bottles but on the odd occasion he wakes for a bottle late night if he hasn't had much in the day. I've noticed if he has a good day eating food his milk intake is less but still no sign of dropping a bottle etc. I'm just going by his lead and kind of disregarding the year target for weaning now, he'll do it when he's ready. He was born 6 weeks early in January (due march) and we were told he could start cows milk on actual 1st birthday, but this is definitely not going to happen in 2 weeks. Hope it helps that you're not the only one. If you find anything that works, please let me know haha x

Try to remember that advice is just advice and all babies are different. As long as your baby is gaining weight and seems full then you're bossing it. Also remember that breastfeeding mums literally have no idea how much their baby is feeding... and those babies still thrive. It shocks me how much pressure and stress is put on new mums around feeding. You know best, follow your gut x
