Yes, mine mostly went away around 3-4 weeks. It eventually became just a pain at latching that stopped at around 1 minute. Now, it barely hurts at all. I think your nips will adjust!
Have you checked for oral ties? this can be effecting the latch and making it hurt
Yes, me. I'm having a lastaction consult on Saturday morning to help me out!. But my midwife told me that my baby's mouth is just so little and that my breast are hugeee, so that makes the combo hard to fit 😫😔, my poor bebe 💔 😢
Glad I'm not alone! Thank you for the responses ladies!😊
@Marielle I keep asking, then somehow the provider and I get sidetracked and forget 😅
Try using nipple shields , it will help with the latch and not irritate your nipples
Definitely agree to trying nipple shields when I first started breastfeeding it would pinch so much and it has definitely helped
This is probably your letdown! I have it and it’s way more intense this time than it was with my first. It’s slowly gotten less intense with time and I hope it’ll completely go away once my supply stabilizes, I’m still slightly overproducing.
@Izabella I'm not sure because I have a little pain throughout the whole breast when he cries that feels like letdown and another pain in the nipple/areola area when he starts the suckle so are both the letdown?? That's what's confusing me. He was in the NICU for 2.5 weeks so maybe that's why it's taking longer for my body to adjust 🤔
Ladies, you were right! I finally got some nipple shields and they worked AMAZINGLY. No pain at all! I guess all the pain i was feeling blocked out the oxytocin that's supposed to come in because believe me when I say I CRIED. I haven't bonded so deeply with my baby like that before!🥹
I heard this was normal! Sharp pinching feeling for the initial latch and first few sucks (30-60 seconds) and then it shouldn’t hurt anymore. Eventually this won’t happen as your nipples get used to it
