Just to say, no one should bully you on how you feed your baby! It’s no one’s decision but yours. Have you looked to see if there are local breastfeeding cafes around? Or contacted the NCT feeding line or tls Leche league? They might be able to help.
Would definitely recommend an NCT breastfeeding drop in! I am in Solihull but the support in Birmingham from this side from Nct is amazing they’re so helpful. Sessions run by Corinne especially. Baby shouldn’t be able to chomp if latching effectively, gums or not so you may just need a positional tweak and it can change it for you xx
@Lottie thank you I’ve been trying to teach him not to bite the cheeky bugger laughs in my face 😭
@Charlotte easier said than done unfortunately. I literally had tears in my eyes to feed him one time and my mom told me to toughen up. No I haven’t but will have a look thank you so much x
@Emily to specify he doesn’t bite when latched. when he’s having a quick break to catch his breath or about to fall asleep I’ll get bit and when he is drinking milk he sucks so hard feels like the milk ducts are gona come out too
@Dar totally get you, this post might help with some tips https://www.instagram.com/p/CozAq6oNd0h/?igsh=MTl5Nng4cTFrOHlwOQ==
Hello, we have a WhatsApp group, message me if any of you mums want to join. We are definitely a mixed bunch so there is always someone who has got advice. Definitely the best group I’ve found x
@Emily love that title 🤣 thanks hun x
My first two weeks I breastfed but he sucked too hard and I just bled so much so I went to pumping because it hurt too much
@Liz I try to pump but takes like 7 minutes to get any milk out and only pump like 2oz is that normal? how can I get a better supply do you know?
I lost my supply two weeks ago and then last Monday I started drinking 1 gallon of water and I would pump between every 3-4 hours and since I’ve been able to pump 3-4 oz from each boob at a time. Honestly water did it for me. I would just force myself to chug down water because I’m not much of a water drinker but I feel so much happier knowing I can pump more than an oz like I was doing two weeks ago
It takes me 45 minutes to pump 3-4 oz from each boob and it is a long time but it is worth it to me
I also had to put my setting down lower because my nipples we’re swollen and turning purple which I know isn’t good which is why I turned the setting down and I have to massage my boob as I pump
I’ve also been told protein is good like almonds and beef jerky

thank you so much and the pump hurts my nipples too so will adjust setting as thought lower setting wouldn’t get the milk out. I don’t mind sitting there 45 mins at all. thanks again girl xx hope it continues to go well for you 🙏🏾
I only mention it because I see you've talked about pumping on your replies... Have you tried hand pumping? I've noticed I can express more milk when I use my hand pump because I can mimic my baby's suction patterns wayyy better than my spectra pump can
I hand pump and use and electric one uno girl still only getting 2oz but.. I’m not pumping for 45 minutes like Liz suggested so going to drink way more water and sit for longer pumping to see how I go
You need to teach him not to bite. He might be teething so wanting to chew on something when his gums/teeth ache. When my daughter bit me I would stop the feed and give her a matchstick monkey to chew instead and then offer the breast 5mins later if she was still hungry. This seems to work and has taught her not to bite my nipples.
