Hip dysplasia

My 4 month old has suspected hip dysplasia and is being referred to an ultra sound. I am so scared. Has anyone else been through this? How long does it take to get the results after the scan?

My son was born breeched so we had an ultrasound done at 6-weeks old to look for hip dysplasia. We got our results online within a few days. My doctor went over the results at his 8-week app. My friends kiddo has it and has to wear a brace around her legs and hips. But she’s the happiest baby I’ve ever met. It’ll be okay, regardless of the outcome. You got this mama. ❤️

My daughter had one done at 6 weeks and they were so gentle everything will be absolutely fine and will take about 10/15 minutes xx

Mine was referred for an ultrasound around 4 months too due to uneven leg rolls… but everything turned out to be fine (results within 24 hrs.) I was super worried, but they were just being careful - it’s one of those things that’s so much easier to treat early on, hence if in doubt they check.

Its really common for doctors to refer for the ultrasound. Almost always comes back negative.

My son had suspected developmental hip displaysianat birth, but the pediatrician told us that if he did have it, it'd be a simple fix. My son had his ultrasound done about a week after he turned 2 months old. We didn't get the results (without my pestering and) until over a month later from Primary Children's through the Pediatrician, but I don't think it should take that long. My son's ultrasounds came back normal.
