Anxiety. Double thinking my c section decision.

I had a C-section with my first baby because he was breech, so I decided on a planned C-section this time. However, I’m starting to doubt my decision due to concerns about recovery. The facts are: the baby has dropped and is growing, I’ve reported reduced movements a few times, and my platelet levels are very low. Initially, the doctor recommended waiting until 39 weeks, but given these factors, 38 weeks might be safer. The baby is also not in the ideal position. I’m feeling nervous about the recovery, especially since I won’t be able to drive or spend as much time with my older child. My husband will return to work just two days after delivery. Although I’ll have a nanny for a few hours daily, I’ll mostly be alone. My older child won’t attend nursery because it’s a 20-30 minute drive, which has been frustrating since I recently moved and haven’t found a closer option. Can second time c section mums give me their experience please?

I had my second c section on 4th Jan and the recovery was so much better than the first time. 1st time I was bed bound for 3 days and it was a hard recovery but the second time was complete opposite. Was walking the next day and felt better every day. I have not been in that much pain at all. Maybe because they cut the same scar as before. Just keep topping up on Meds for a week even if you feel ok.

Thank you 🤍

Most people I've spoken to who have had elective c sections have had a really positive experience and those who have had second time sections seem to have recovered super quickly.
