Low anterior placenta... VBAC?

So I had a c section 18 months ago and am 24 weeks with baby number 2 (will be a 21/22 month gap). I am all set to go for a vbac BUT the deciding factor is my placenta. It is anterior and low this time and this runs the risk of being on or too close to my scar... has anyone had something similar? Did it move? Did you have to have a section? I have a scan in 4 weeks to check if it's moved and plan from there but I am STRESSED 🫠

Is it covering your cervix at this point?

@Valerie no its just "low"

If it’s just low at 24 weeks I’d imagine it’ll likely move up. I’m pretty sure anterior is one of the most common placenta placements. Mine was a low anterior at 22 weeks last pregnancy and by around 32 weeks it had moved up quite a bit to where they could no longer classify it as low lying. 🙏🏼 I’m hoping for an uncomplicated situation for you and so far it sounds like all is good. I’ve included an article that talks about the stats of continued low lying and placenta accreta and I’ve found the stats to be very reassuring. https://www.uhsussex.nhs.uk/resources/low-lying-placenta-placenta-praevia-and-placenta-accreta-after-32-weeks-2/#:~:text=called%20the%20afterbirth.-,What%20is%20a%20low%20lying%20placenta?,cases)%20as%20the%20pregnancy%20progresses.

@Valerie that was a really helpful read thank you! I've got a 28 week scan to check everything just to make sure my scar isn't affected, it just all sounds scary when they tell you all the possible risks and got me in a but of a spiral

For sure, any time I hear about certain risks it freaks me out. But I like to remind myself about how rare these risks really are. It sounds like your follow up scan is to confirm that all things are still good to go, like its re-confirmation that nothing is wrong. ☺️
