I found this group so helpful when I started pumping: https://www.peanut-app.io/share/k86r9jvtsOb Also if you are breastfeeding, pumping and amount that comes out does not always indicate supply X
1. Try renting a hospital grade pump or using a double electric pump. Hands free pumps tend to be better once your milk supply is established. 2. You need to be pumping frequently (if baby is nursing and bottle feeding, then pump for every feed you give them a bottle; if baby is exclusively bottle feeding you should be pumping 3 hourly). 3. Double pumping tends to get you more milk 4. Make sure you’re as relaxed as possible 5. Express around your baby or look at pictures of them If you’re already doing all this then please speak to an IBCLC lactation consultant (you can find one in your local area via LCGB website)
@Sarah Okie dokie thank you 🫶🏼
@Jess thank you hon xx
@Savannah I’ll try this thank you hon x
Have you got the right sized flange on the pump? If your nipples rub on the edges as it pumps it’s too tight. Don’t expect too much milk first week, remember to drink lots of water, keep eating and take your multivits. I highly recommend a haaka too. I would put it on my other boob whilst I pumped or breastfed. You’ll catch letdown milk off the boob you aren’t using and you can add that in too ☺️
