Dropping Naps

Hi, how will I know when my son is ready to drop his naps? It's getting more difficult to persuade him to come upstairs to get ready for his nap. If I pick him up to take him upstairs he has a huge tantrum and then will refuse to go to sleep because he's so upset. He acts like he's tired in the afternoon which is why I've been trying to continue with the naps. I'm not sure what signs to look out for. By about 5pm if we miss a nap his ears are bright red and so are his cheeks which have always been signs that he's really tired. My partner is getting annoyed at me if we miss a nap saying that he needs one (he won't let my partner put him down for a nap because we still breastfeed so always wants me there). What have everyone else done? Thanks for reading x

Following! Over the last few weeks I’ve been wondering if my boy is ready to drop his. He doesn’t seem as tired in the afternoon as before but will sleep. However, if he takes his nap it’s a nightmare getting him to bed and he’s up until around 10pm which causes massive issues getting up for nursery in the morning. If he doesn’t nap he’s falling asleep in the car on the way home. I feel he’s at the point where he’s not needing as much sleep and maybe getting ready to drop but I’m not too sure just yet x

We're trialling a later nap, he used to have his nap five hours after he woke up and before lunch, now we give him lunch and put him down after six hours and he doesn't kick off he settles and sleeps. We cap the nap at an hour and then bed is around 6.5 hours after he wakes from his nap.

Naps have become a nightmare my daughter refuses to nap but she's exhausted by 4 and falls asleep no matter how much I try keep her awake I wake her up after a hour or so and then she won't go bed to gone 10 at night it's a nightmare everyday trying to get her to nap because ino she will drop in the evening I dnt want her to because she won't settle at night but she ent ready to drop her naps but she dnt want them I'm stuck 🤣
