Axkid movekid

Hiya we got this seat last week and today was our first proper journey in it and both times she fell asleep her head kept flopping like this. It’s already reclined and I can’t pull the tethers tighter, do I need to buy one of these recline blocks? It was such a stressful drive! https://axkid.com/uk/product/angle-adjusting-wedge/

I have the minikid and i find this happens too, on max recline aswell. I wasnt sure if i could use the wedge so I’d like to see what people say cx

Have you got a picture of her when she it first fitted into the seat please x

Have you asked your retailer or contacted Axkid for support with the fit?

@Sophie yeah I’ve given her a message she fitted the seat for me on Monday and checked her in it etc she’s ok other than when asleep that’s when her head flops

@Jaden ahh really, that doesn’t fill me with much hope I may have to try getting a different seat. I was going to get the britax romer max safe pro and so wish I did now x

Contact your retailer for a fit check, you’ve paid for the service. But this is quite normal when they move from being so reclined in a baby seat. They do learn to adjust and it’s not a health concern as long as shes fit and well. The wedge can be used with the Movekid if the seats are very sloped, not needed in most cases.

Everything Emily said is perfect, she looks good to me and she will likely get used to it it’s just a new bigger seat. Maybe see if you can lift the leg, tighten tethers more and then drop the leg again xx

@Emily so rhe lady I bought it from fitted it on Monday and checked her in it and is fine it’s just that today when she fell asleep that’s when we discovered the head tilt. She did say it could take 2/3 weeks to adjust like you say but is she safe to sleep like that as I’ll be driving alone so won’t be able to move her head / every corner I went round her head just moved into that position and sometimes wasn’t for a few minutes until she put her head up unless my partner did it for her

@Kiera Thankyou this is what the lady I purchased off suggested so I will go out tomorrow and try as I did try when we got home earlier but I couldn’t get the tethers to move so maybe my fiance will be able to pull it harder than me as it seemed very tight xx

This is what happened to my son in this seat but was told it was just because he wasn't used to it after his infant seat. After a week or two he stopped flopping

@Becca it’s ok it’s normal to worry if it’s safe but it is and they do adjust. My twins used to get headflop but learnt where to position their heads for sleep. Try tightening the tethers a bit further ☺️

@Becca the headrest looks quite high here to me, but maybe it's just the angle. Are the straps coming out in line with her shoulders?

@Sophie think it’s just the angle as seems in right position / was fitted by a car seat specialist and she adjusted. And yes to straps being in line with shoulders

@Emily Thankyou for reassurance. Will tighten tomorrow and see how that goes and give her chance to get used to new positioning

@Emma Thankyou that’s really helpful to hear hopefully she will get used to it soon🤞
