Hi there! Seems like it could be a vocal stim. What I am trying to see from the video is if he is frustrated with what he is cutting? You could try modeling “help me” or “break” or even “all done” to help him understand a different way of getting your attention or changing the activity. However, it could also be sensory.
My son does this when he’s excited! Playing with a toy or watching his show lol
Oh yeah. My daughter does it - they are ear piercing just like that
@Linda thank you!
@Nicole thank you! I know, I’m not too sure. He does it a lot after he’s been to nursery and a lot when he’s playing so maybe some frustration, some excitement? It’s hard to tell. I agree it could definitely be sensory! He is a really big sensory seeker!
@Kimberly when he’s playing he does it a lot so I think it could be excitement!
@Susan it goes right through you!! You can tell my youngest isn’t even phased by it anymore 😂
I think that could be a vocal stim. Some people say redirection helps them. Hope the waiting list wont take long and that you will get more answers.
