C section

Weird one but since having my baby I am weeing a lot less often like I just don’t get the urge to wee no matter how much I drink, it’s like I keep having to tell myself to keep weeing! Anyone else?

Its because your bladder is numb. Make sure you dont get a uti and set an alarm to go to the toilet otherwise the pain is immense if you dont and your bladder gets full

I’m the same - it’s on my list of questions to ask the GP at my post natal appointment. Not sure if it’s from the c-section or specifically the catheter, not sure if it’s normal and when to expect it to return either!

Yes I go less, but I’m also dehydrated as well, it will get more sensation back at some point just drink plenty and visit the toilet a bit more

Yes same and also had it with my first C-section. It took a while to get the full feeling back. It did come back eventually!

Omg I could have written this myself! I have been super thirsty so drinking loads (at least 1.5L a day) but I only feel the need to pee maybe 2/3 times per day 🤦‍♀️

Yes, I had this. It’s apparently because of the trauma of the catheter, I now have a kidney infection because I wasn’t weeing so frequently. Keep up the water and set a timer to go for a wee.

Set an alarm to remind you to go so you don't get a uti ..definitely mention it to the dr. Bladder function can be affected after a section unfortunately

My doctor asked me directly whether I was experiencing this at my 6 week check post partum because I had to have a catheter for an epidural which fortunately I don’t but for her to ask specifically, it’s obviously something that can happen. I would Speak to your doctor asap.

I did wonder this too. I just thought that it was because I’m not pregnant anymore 😅

Yeah, they use a clamp in surgery that holds you open and holds your bladder to the side. It’s totally normal to have a few weeks of numbness as your nerves rewire and remind you you are full xx
