Sweeps!!
Hey everyone, really random but what does it actually feel like to get a sweep done? Is it painful?

No it doesn’t hurt. Have one if you want one but don’t be forced into having one if you don’t. I had loads with my first they did naff all I’m not having any vaginal checks or sweeps this time round I don’t see the point in being uncomfortable for no reason xx
Had one but she couldn’t quite reach my cervix so the only reason it was uncomfortable was due to her trying to really get up there 😆
No, just a bit uncomfortable. A good time to practice calming breathing 😌
I had a sweep Thursday night, I also had a speculum done Thursday a couple of hours before the sweep (like a smear test) and found that so much more painful than the sweep!! Xx
Everyone’s different. I have a very low pain threshold and I didn’t find it painful just very uncomfortable. I didn’t use gas and air either on my sweep. Really focus on your breathing and if you need a break let the midwife know they’re really good :)
