For those who have miscarried and used expectant management, how long did it take?

This is my third loss but the first time that I’ve found out the heartbeat was lost before bleeding began. I was 8 weeks when it stopped. That was about 10 days ago and my body still isn’t letting go of the pregnancy. I’m not sure how long of a wait I should expect. I don’t really have a frame of reference.

I had a missed miscarriage a few years ago and baby had stopped growing at around 5-6 weeks I had got to week 8 before bleeding had started and chose medical management as I wasn’t passing baby naturally after a few weeks, I had the oral tablet and then passed a lot at home then I went to the hospital the next day to have pessaries inserted and it was completed that day, x

I guess what I’m wanting to know is that it usually takes several weeks with no medical intervention. That’s my theory right now. I was hoping it would happen sooner because it’s so hard to continue to be pregnant when you know it’s over 💔

Found out my MMC during my first scan at almost 13 weeks but they believe it had happened at 5/6 weeks. Still no bleeding at what would have been almost 15 weeks, Medical management (pessaries) failed twice for me. D&C went horrendously wrong. They think mine would not have happened naturally as it was really attached to my scar tissue. I guess expectant management time varies so much for people x

@Hayley oh jeez sorry this sounds horrific! What was the scar tissue from? I’ve have a previous c-section. But I haven’t had a d&c

The scar tissue was from my c section almost 2 years ago

@Hayley ok new fear unlocked 😳

@Hayley I’m going to message you non-anonymously to see if you’ll answer a few more questions I have ☺️

My incident is so rare that it is being investigated so please don’t be fearful
