Online Dating: Weeding out the lames

Where did y’all start looking to date online? I’m on Tinder right now but I just feel like everyone on here is either trying to hookup or putting zero effort into getting to know each other. I’m NOT a good conversationalist and have really bad social anxiety but I’m still asking questions, sending long detailed messages, really trying to get to know the person and I’m getting lazy ass responses. Definitely discouraging me. I am “conventionally attractive” so I feel like men are not seeing past my looks… when I really want a genuine connection and I’m not shallow at all!! Thoughts??

I'll start off by saying I'm not the most attractive but I got a lot of genuine connections from this app Boo. Sure there were a couple weirdos but it's easy to block/ignore them. I actually met the guy I've been dating for 2 months on there You don't even have to be looking for an intimate relationship you can also make friends on there and I also made 1 closeish friend from there

I think it can work out. I met my husband on tinder. When I was 18 I got tinder just for hookups and hangouts and ended up meeting my husband. We had genuine convos and it worked out in the long run. 🤷‍♀️

this is my fear about getting on dating apps. Back in the day people just wanted to hookup and not date or being anything more than fuck buddies and unfortunately I didn’t have any boundaries about it

But like the other comments said you never know!! It could work out! im just stating my fears are very similar to what you have about the apps too 😆
