I was in this situation. We tried a few different bottles, different temps, different people. And still wouldn’t take it. We tried a different formula and she would drink 30ml. For a while that was all she would drink. Sine the start of Jan we have been trying to give 1 bottle a day and it’s been slowly increasing. We’ve also been giving some solids here and there. She was 6 months on the 5th of Jan and goes to daycare mid Feb. yesterday she drank 120ml. So I at least feel as though even if it’s not a full amount she will get by. Just keep persisting. I also read somewhere that if you try them 6 times on the same type of bottle it’s just as likely as trying 6 different bottles. But you can also try a sippy cup, open cup or straw cup especially coming up to six months as some babies just never take a bottle. And worst case spoon feeding milk is an option but very time consuming.
@Gracie I’ve just ordered one of these to try as they are on sale on Amazon so will see how it goes!
@Simone we are trying to be consistent and offer twice a day. We only offer when she’s ‘content’ as I don’t want to distress her by offering when she’s overtired or hungry. The issue is she seems to not be able to latch on and just slips off. I’ll keep trying though as really want to be able to make sure she can get some formula in when she’s in nursery. Selfishly it would be nice if she’d take a bottle so I can have a few hours to myself as well 😅
Try dr brown bottles
She could be needing a faster flow. We found out our LO is kinda lazy and doesn’t like sucking hard for her milk. We use the brand Pigeon and she likes drinking now. She does occasionally get stuffy so we have to do saline drops before feeding sometimes.
My baby loves Philips avent and she can still latch onto me very well
I’m all honesty I would say don’t worry about it. Keep trying but she’ll take to it eventually. I went back to work at 9m and she’d take it occasionally but was very temperamental. I gave the nursery the formula and bottle and told them to try however I wasn’t expecting her to take it- she ate so I wasn’t too worried. I was at work 9-5 she’d go nursery 8-1 not take bottle, then my mum would pick her up 1-5 after a few weeks she’d take the bottle from my mum, but still not nursery. Now at a year she has cows milk out the bottle all the time.
Have you tried the Phillips avent natural? When doing the triangle test it is super close to a breast.
