Lack of maternity care

Is anyone else feeling incredibly let down by the lack of care received by Swansea Bay maternity services. On day 4 of no midwife cover in my area, I’m supposed to have my blood pressure checked every 2 days, but there’s no midwife to do it. Thursday I was sent home from triage at singleton without being reviewed by a Dr, as they had called in sick. Instead my blood test results were printed off and I was told to ask my consultant to review them next week. I had my first in lockdown and was really hoping for a better experience this time around 😫

Yeah the experience is a let down this time around even after labour my first labour experience was great this time around wasn’t great

Yess I had severe preeclampsia I had BP readings of 160/100’s and higher! I wasn’t! Yet people recently have been admitted with them readings I was left! My consultant didn’t show up 2 days in a row at NPT clinic and I had to almost beg a midwife to check my BP and it spiralled from there! When I was admitted the last time on day 2-3 I was sent to L&D where midwives used a thigh cuff which gave readings of 126/70 THEY WERE READY TO SEND ME BACK TO TRIAGE! On shift change two other midwives listened to my concerns checked it 3 different ways and kept me upstairs! My step mum stayed with me and by the time my mam got home and went to sleep within 10 minutes of her being asleep she had 50 missed called off my step mum! A week before that I was begging consultants to give me steroids and no one listened! X

I had admissions to increase my BP meds but that’s it yet others are being admitted at lower to deliver! The night things went south it took them 15 hours to get me stable enough for delivery! Down on triage I was asking for a scan cause baby’s heart rate was 180+ and not settling down and took some time to they said it was cause he was moving yet I felt nothing then up on L&D his heart rate was 40-60! Xx he’s doing amazing now xx I’ve had issues PP xx
