Emotions/tantrums

Since LG went back to nursery after Christmas her emotions have been all over. I know she was glad to see her friends again, but she's often lashing out when she gets frustrated, hitting and shouting, sometimes out of nowhere. She asks for something e.g. a song, we put it on and instantly she gets cross saying she didn't ask for that. When we've spoken to her afterwards about how to be kind etc and asked who she has seen behave like that, she mentions a couple of kids at nursery who hit her friends. I don't know how much is true tbf, but I'm considering speaking to nursery as her behaviour is out of character from a week ago. I know it could well be development though or tiredness. Has anyone else experienced this? She had a nap today because she woke up at 4am and for half an hour after waking she was inconsolable, told me to stop ( I was sat next to her only) but didn't want to have a cuddle or for me to leave. When she finally calmed down she sat on my knee and fell asleep. I'm stumped and mentally exhausted!

Word for word us! Literally the only thing I'd change is LG to LB! He's definitely picking it up from nursery cos he don't see that behaviour at home or at my mums. We've had to introduce a time-out chair but now he's also lashing out. The other day he started pretending to vomit when he was having a tantrum after seeing a kid at nursery vomit cos they were poorly. I'm dreading what he'll pick up at school! I've found this past week he seems really tired. Thought he might be poorly but nothings showing. His emotions do seem all over the place so wondered if it was some developmental changes.
