Baby fabric carrier/ wrap

I’m going out for a walk tomorrow post c section and I’m thinking of wearing my fabric wrap. Do anyone else use one of these? Are they okay for a nearly 4 week old? Also what do you put your baby in clothes wise? I’m worried about her over heating as she’ll be getting heat from me too. Any tips would be appreciated!

I guess so! I’ve been using my ergo baby carrier since Thursday when my son turned 4 weeks not had any issues.

Go for it! I’ve been wearing my boy since he was 12 days old in his carrier. He loves it, sleeps soundly and enjoys the body heat in this bad weather. Clothes wise, I have a big duffel coat that goes around us both so I don’t put him in his pram suit/anything too heavy. Long sleeve vest, full onesie with feet and hands covered, jumper, hat.

Hi! I've been wearing my little girl since she was 2 days old. I'd suggest one more layer than you have baby in indoors, a hat and then a coat or cover which goes round you both. Make sure you choose a sleep suit which is roomy round the feet so they can be properly positioned. And as others have said make sure you follow TICKS guidelines - there's a lot of good YouTube tutorials on how to baby wear - I like the ones by south London sling library

I have her in a short sleeve vest, sleepsuit, cardi and hat in the sling in this cold weather and my coat also goes round the sides of her. I make sure I cover her feet in the sling too. It's much cosier than the pram she's much happier x

Thank you all! A lot of the guidance that I’ve seen say for this weather to have leg warmers but I don’t have any. Any suggestions of what to use instead? I’m just so worried about her over heating x

If you're worried about cold legs then you could do tights and trousers for baby, or cut the end off some socks (adult) and use them as leg warmers. Honestly I'm not bothering with leg warmers but my baby is in my coat

I haven't used leg warmers either, her legs are totally covered in the sling and mostly by my coat too x

This sounds really awful and morbid but I’ve always been taught this - cold babies cry, warm babies die 😭 so try minimal layers first I’ve put my son in short sleeved vest + outfit + knitted cardi & botties with a thin hat when in carrier and he’s very settled with this the carrier itself is a layer and your sharing body heat
